Amazon Spain seller fees 2026: referral fees by category

Price tag with a percentage sign and the tags referral fees, minimum fee, selling plans and by category, next to the title ‘Amazon Spain seller fees’

Quick answer

On Amazon.es in 2026 you pay a referral fee on every sale: 15% of the total price in most categories, 5% to 10% in the lower price bands of clothing, home, beauty, baby, grocery, supplements and pet clothing and food, and 7% on electronics and computers, with a minimum of €0.30 per item in most categories. On top come your selling plan (€39 a month excluding VAT on the Professional plan, or €0.99 per item sold on the Individual plan), a closing fee of €0.81 to €1.01 on media items and a 3% digital services fee on Amazon’s selling fees.

Before you list a product on Amazon.es, work out what Amazon keeps from each sale. The referral fee isn’t a flat 15%: it depends on the category, on the price and, since the cuts of December 2025 and January 2026, on whether the product is cheap. These are the fees in Amazon’s fee schedule for Amazon.es, with the arithmetic and the official source for each one.

Who is this guide for?

For anyone who sells on Amazon.es: sellers based in Spain and sellers who list there from another country. Amazon.es is part of Amazon’s European selling account, which also covers the UK and the other EU stores, and Amazon’s Build International Listings tool lets you create offers on Amazon.es from your home store, for example Amazon.co.uk or Amazon.de. Every figure here is for Amazon.es; further down you’ll see how it compares with Germany, France, Italy and the UK.

What fees does Amazon charge sellers on Amazon.es?

Whether you use FBA or FBM, these are the main fees in Amazon’s Selling on Amazon fee schedule for Amazon.es:

  • Selling plan. Professional: €39 a month, excluding VAT, however much you sell. Individual: no monthly fee, but €0.99 excluding VAT for each item sold through Amazon.es.
  • Referral fee. A percentage of the total sales price that depends on the category and, in many categories, on the price. Most categories also have a minimum per item.
  • Closing fee on media items. €1.01 per book sold, and €0.81 per item of music, DVD and video, video games (games, accessories and consoles) and software.
  • Digital services fee. 3% on top of Amazon’s selling fees, and also on FBA fees if your business is established in the UK or France.
  • Refund administration fee. Deducted from the referral fee Amazon gives back when you refund an order.

If you use FBA, you also pay the fulfilment fee per unit and monthly storage; we break storage down in our guide to Amazon FBA storage and peak fees in Europe. If you use FBM, your own shipping and packing costs take their place.

Amazon.es referral fees by category in 2026

Amazon applies the percentage to the total sales price: what the buyer pays, including the item price, shipping and gift wrap. Amazon’s pricing page for Amazon.es says the percentage is applied to the final price “including shipping costs, VAT and gift-wrapping charges”. Where there’s a minimum, you pay the percentage or the minimum, whichever is greater.

Read the bands carefully. ‘Up to €20’ bands apply one rate to the whole price. Bands that mention ‘the portion’ work like tax bands: each part of the price pays its own rate.

The category that counts is the one Amazon assigns to the product, not the one you would choose. To see it in Seller Central, go to Manage All Inventory, search for the SKU or ASIN, click Calculate revenue under Estimated fees per unit sold, then the information icon next to the referral fee.

Heavy FBA items have a higher minimum: €20 for heavy oversize products (over 23 kg) and €25 for heavy bulky products (over 31.5 kg, longest side over 175 cm or girth over 360 cm).

How is the referral fee calculated? Worked examples

CaseTotal priceCalculationReferral fee
Home product just below the €20 step€19.998% × €19.99€1.60
The same product just above it€20.9915% × €20.99€3.15
Furniture, portion bands€30015% × €200 + 10% × €100€40 (13.3% of the price)
Cheap clothing item€4.995% × €4.99 = €0.25, below the minimum€0.30

The first two rows show why price steps matter. At €19.99 you keep €18.39 after the referral fee; at €20.99, €17.84. Raising the price by €1 leaves you €0.55 less. The last row shows the minimum at work: in a 5% band where the minimum applies, anything priced under €6 pays €0.30. The digital services fee then adds 3% to each fee: €0.05 on €1.60 and €0.09 on €3.15.

What changed in the 2026 fee update?

On 2 December 2025 Amazon announced its European fee changes for 2026, with an average cut of €0.17 per unit sold across its European stores. If your margin sheet is older than that, update it. These were the referral fee cuts:

Category and price bandBeforeNowIn force since
Clothing and accessories up to €158%5%15 December 2025

Grocery and gourmet up to €108%5%5 January 2026
Vitamins, minerals and supplements (new category) up to €108%5%5 January 2026

In the same update Amazon cut FBA fulfilment fees for parcels by an average of €0.32 in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain, and extended its Low-Price FBA rates to most products priced at €20 or less. It also raised monthly storage, return-to-seller and liquidation fees. Since 17 April 2026 Amazon also adds a 1.5% fuel and logistics surcharge to FBA fulfilment fees.

What is the 3% digital services fee?

Amazon adds a digital services fee to account for the digital services taxes of the UK (2%) and of Spain, France and Italy (3%). It is a percentage added to Amazon’s fees per unit. For sales on Amazon.es, these are the rules in force since 20 March 2026:

Where your business is establishedFees that pay 3% extra on Amazon.es sales
UK or FranceSelling on Amazon fees and FBA fees
Spain, Italy or any other country (Germany or the US, for example)Selling on Amazon fees only

Selling on Amazon fees means the referral fee, closing fees and the get-paid-faster fee. You can preview the digital services fee in the Revenue Calculator and see it in the Transaction view of your payments reports.

Individual or Professional plan?

The Individual plan costs €0.99 per item sold; the Professional plan, €39 a month, both excluding VAT. Divide one by the other: 39 ÷ 0.99 = 39.4. From 40 sales a month, the Professional plan is cheaper, which is the same line Amazon draws in its plan comparison. Amazon also points you to the Professional plan if you want to advertise, sell in restricted categories or use advanced tools such as APIs and reports.

Amazon’s fee schedule for Amazon.es says the €39 fee applies when you only have active listings in its European stores: the UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, Ireland, Poland and Belgium. Sellers registered through Amazon.co.uk see the Professional plan fee as £25, excluding VAT. If you also sell in other regions, such as the US, through linked accounts, Amazon charges the equivalent of USD 39.99 a month or the sum of your regional plan fees, whichever is lower.

Do you get the referral fee back when you refund a customer?

Yes, minus the refund administration fee: the lower of €5 or 20% of the referral fee. Amazon’s own example: you refund the €10 total price of an item in a 15% category. The referral fee was €1.50, the refund administration fee is €0.30 (20% of €1.50) and you get €1.20 back. The €5 cap only matters when the referral fee is above €25, which in a 15% category means a price above about €166.67. It’s a small amount per unit, but in categories with many returns it adds up over the month.

Are the fees the same on Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, Amazon.it and Amazon.co.uk?

The percentages are. Amazon’s European rate card effective 1 July 2026 lists the same referral fees for the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain. The differences are in the details:

  • UK: the bands are in pounds and some thresholds differ (furniture changes rate at £175, jewellery and watches at £225, automotive at £45 and Prime clothing at £40). The minimum is £0.25 and the media closing fee is £0.50.
  • France: the media closing fee is €0.61.
  • Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, Sweden and Poland: they have their own columns in the rate card, and Poland has several rates of its own.
  • Digital services fee: it changes by store and by where you are based. A UK-based seller pays 2% on Amazon.co.uk sales and 3% on Amazon.es sales.

Don’t copy the Amazon.es table into another store’s margin sheet without checking that store’s fee schedule.

Checklist: work out what Amazon keeps from each sale

  1. Confirm the fee category Amazon assigns to the product and find its row in the table.
  2. Apply the percentage to the total price the buyer pays, in the right band, and check the €0.30 minimum.
  3. Add the closing fee if it is a book, music, video, video game or software item.
  4. Add the 3% digital services fee on those fees, and on FBA fees if you are based in the UK or France.
  5. Add your selling plan: €0.99 per unit, or €39 a month spread over your monthly sales.
  6. Add fulfilment: the FBA fulfilment fees (plus the 1.5% fuel and logistics surcharge) and storage fees, or your own FBM shipping and packing cost.
  7. Take out the rest: the VAT included in the price, the product cost, transport to the warehouse and an allowance for refunds. Who declares the VAT depends on where your business and stock are, so check with your tax adviser; our Pan-EU FBA guide covers the basics for sellers inside and outside the EU.
  8. Check the price steps: if you are just above €10, €15 or €20, work out whether a few cents less leaves you more.

The Revenue Calculator in Seller Central runs the same numbers for a specific ASIN. If you import from outside the EU, there are new charges at the border too: see our guide to the EU customs handling fee for e-commerce.

Frequently asked questions

What percentage does Amazon charge to sell on Amazon.es?

Cheaper products in clothing, home, beauty, baby, grocery, supplements and pet clothing and food pay between 5% and 10%, computers and consumer electronics pay 7%, jewellery pays 20% on the first €250 and Amazon device accessories pay 45%.

How much is the Amazon Professional selling plan in Spain?

Is the referral fee different for FBA and FBM?

Mostly not: it depends on the category and the price, not on who ships. There are two exceptions linked to fulfilment: clothing above €45 sold with FBA or Seller Fulfilled Prime pays 15% on the first €45 and 7% on the rest, and heavy FBA items have a minimum of €20 or €25.

Which categories have the lowest referral fees on Amazon.es?

Clothing up to €15 and grocery, vitamins and supplements, and pet clothing and food up to €10 pay 5%. Computers, consumer electronics, full-size appliances and tyres pay 7% at any price.

Does Amazon refund the referral fee if the customer returns the product?

Yes, but not all of it: it keeps a refund administration fee of €5 or 20% of the referral fee, whichever is lower. On a €10 item in a 15% category, that is €0.30.

Did Amazon’s fees change in 2026?

Yes. Amazon cut referral fees for cheaper clothing on 15 December 2025 and for cheaper home products, pet clothing and food, grocery and supplements on 5 January 2026, with an announced average cut of €0.17 per unit across Europe. On 20 March 2026 it updated how the 3% digital services fee applies to sales in Spain, France and Italy.
